Getting started
What is a Taster?
A free, short introduction to a topic: the start of its opening module, about 20 minutes, narrated. You need a free account to watch it.
Do I need an account?
You can browse the whole of Avanti Academy without one. You need a free account to watch a Taster, buy a course or open your Learning Passport. Use "Create free account" at the top of any page.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The Academy works on phones, tablets and computers. Sign in on any device and your Learning Passport is there.
Can I talk to someone before I choose?
Yes. Use "Ask for a free 15-minute call", tell us what you'd like to talk about, and we will be in touch within two working days to arrange a convenient time.
Signing in
I created an account but can't sign in.
We send an email to finish setting up your account. If you can't see it within a few minutes, please check your junk folder. If the button in the email doesn't work, copy the link written under it into your browser.
I've forgotten my password.
On the Sign in page, choose "Forgotten your password" and we will email you a link to set a new one. You can also ask for a sign-in link by email instead.
My organisation is buying my place. Which email should I use?
Use your work email, so your learning is waiting for you when your place is added.
Your courses
How long do I have access to a course?
You can use a course you buy for 12 months from the day you buy it.
Are there captions?
Yes. Every slide has captions and a full transcript. Captions start off. Turn them on with the CC button, or choose "Always show captions" in your Learning Passport so they start on every time.
Certificates
Which certificate will I get?
Bitesize courses carry a Certificate of Completion. When you finish a course at Focus level or above, you can choose a Certificate of Completion, or take a short assessment for a Certificate of Completion and Assessment.
What do I need to pass the assessment?
70% or more. You can take it again straight away, as many times as you like.
Is the certificate a qualification?
No. Certificates are issued by Avanti Change Ltd as a record of professional development. They are not regulated qualifications. Each one shows its learning hours. Avanti Change Ltd is an Approved CPD Provider with The CPD Group (#791372), and this learning may count towards your own CPD record.
Can you confirm or reissue my certificate?
Yes. Each certificate has a unique number, and we keep a record so we can confirm or reissue it if you ask. We don't offer a public lookup.
Refunds
Can I cancel a course?
If you buy as a consumer, you can cancel within 14 days of buying for a full refund. This doesn't apply if you asked us to start your course straight away and agreed that you would lose this right once it started. Opening any slide of the course starts it. This doesn't affect your other legal rights.
And an Avanti Profile?
You can cancel within 14 days for a full refund only if you have not yet opened the questionnaire link.
What happens to my upgrade credit if I get a refund?
If you get a refund on a course whose credit you have already used, the credit you used comes off that refund.
Prices and upgrade credit
Do you add VAT?
No. Avanti Change Ltd is not registered for VAT, so the price you see is the price you pay.
How does upgrade credit work?
If you step up a level, for example from a Bitesize to the Focus or Immerse it belongs to, what you paid in the last 12 months for the smaller course comes off the price. A Focus course or above never costs less than £15. Courses at the same level never give credit against each other.
Buying for an organisation
Can my organisation buy for a team?
Yes. Buy online for a group of 5 to 19 for 10% off, or ask for a team or organisation licence. Organisations can pay by invoice with a purchase order number. One link and code lets the whole group join, and each person has their own Learning Passport.
Can we pay by invoice?
Yes. Invoices are payable within 14 days.
