When you step up to a higher level, what you paid in the last 12 months for lower-level courses inside the bigger course comes off its price, in proportion to how much of each is inside it, whichever topic it's from. About this course

Overview and Outcomes.

Overview

Becoming a manager is a change of job, not a bigger version of the old one. This module looks at the three things that change on day one, uses Katz's three skill model to show why human skill suddenly matters far more, and follows Julie Zhuo's first year in management. It separates what genuinely changes from what stays the same and puts three common myths to rest.

What you'll develop

In this Bitesize, you will develop the ability to:

  1. Explain why becoming a manager is a change of job, and name the three things that change on day one.
  2. Use Katz's three skill model to judge where your own development effort should go as a first line manager.
  3. Distinguish what genuinely changes from what stays the same, and recognise the three myths that most often trip up new managers.
