When you step up to a higher level, what you paid in the last 12 months for lower-level courses inside the bigger course comes off its price, in proportion to how much of each is inside it, whichever topic it's from. Courses at the same or a lower level don't give credit against each other. A Focus course or above always costs at least £15. Read the full terms

Overview and Outcomes.
Who It's For
Leaders, board members and managers in the NHS, health boards, councils, social care, housing and charities in Wales and England.
Overview
This half-day Explore covers integration from purpose to practice. It opens with what integration is for, through Leutz, the rainbow model and Huxham and Vangen, then compares Regional Partnership Boards in Wales with integrated care systems and the 2025 to 2026 reforms in England. It follows the money through pooled budgets, the Better Care Fund and the Regional Integration Fund, and the people through Schein's levels of culture. It then turns to discharge and neighbourhood care, governance and the ICO Data Sharing Code, and leading through relationship, closing with Torbay, the Regional Integration Fund and Gwent.
Aims
This half-day Explore aims to develop leaders who keep one person at the centre of integration and choose structures only for what they are for. It builds understanding of the systems in Wales and England, confidence in partnership money and governance, and the relational leadership that makes joint care work.
In summary, you will be able to:
- Assess what integration can honestly deliver and what it needs from partners.
- Navigate the structures, funding and accountability of integration in Wales and England.
- Lead partnership working through relationships, shared purpose and one person's journey.
What you'll develop
Across this Explore, you will develop the ability to:
- Explain why integration is a means rather than an end, and use Leutz's three levels and the rainbow model to judge how much integration a group of people needs and where it has to happen.
- Outline the five principles of the 2014 Act and the Part 9 duties of Regional Partnership Boards, from membership and planning to pooled funds and engagement.
- Plan for the functions that must continue through restructuring, and judge whether a decision belongs at system, place or neighbourhood scale.
- Compare aligned budgets, lead commissioning, pooled budgets and integrated provision, and the different designs of the Better Care Fund and the Regional Integration Fund.
- Use Schein's three levels of culture to diagnose why joint working stalls below the surface, and recognise how employment differences between the NHS and social care shape who is heard.
- Use the shifting the burden archetype to recognise how quick fixes in discharge and home care can crowd out fundamental solutions, and how to protect the slower work.
- Apply the expectations of the ICO Data Sharing Code and the test of sharing as if the person were in the room, and use five assurance questions as a board member.
- Judge what a time-limited fund needs to leave a lasting legacy, and apply the design for Mrs Smith approach to a service or decision of your own.
