When you step up to a higher level, what you paid in the last 12 months for lower-level courses inside the bigger course comes off its price, in proportion to how much of each is inside it, whichever topic it's from. Courses at the same or a lower level don't give credit against each other. A Focus course or above always costs at least £15. Read the full terms

Overview and Outcomes.
Who It's For
Leaders, board members, commissioners and practitioners in housing, councils, the NHS, mental health, police and charities across Wales and England.
Overview
This full-day Immerse covers homelessness, mental health and multiple disadvantage from foundations to action. It begins with the spectrum of homelessness, the figures in Wales and England, Hard Edges and the MEAM Approach, and the cycle between mental health and homelessness. It then sets out mental health law, co-occurring conditions, harm reduction and homelessness law in both nations. Housing First, trauma-informed services and lived experience follow, with safeguarding, system working and staff wellbeing. It closes with Results-Based Accountability and two cases, The Thistle in Glasgow and the deaths of people experiencing homelessness, with a plan for the next ninety days.
Aims
This Immerse aims to develop leaders who see the whole person, put keeping people alive first, use the law in Wales and England well, and build services and partnerships, from Housing First to peer leadership, that fit people, care for staff and measure what truly changes in people's lives.
In summary, you will be able to:
- Map how homelessness, mental health and substance use services connect, and where people fall between them.
- Apply legal duties, harm reduction and Housing First principles to strengthen your local response.
- Lead your organisation and partners towards a no wrong door system that is measured by its difference to people.
What you'll develop
By the end of this Immerse, you will be able to:
- Apply the five things leaders do to move your services from managing homelessness towards ending it, so that services fit people rather than people fitting services.
- Explain the reframing from complex people to complex systems, and how services built for one need create gaps for people facing several.
- Apply a no wrong door approach, with warm handovers, shared plans and joint assessments, to remove designed-in barriers to care and make rights reachable.
- Apply practical harm reduction steps in housing and hostels, including naloxone, disclosure without penalty and welfare checks at known moments of risk.
- Explain what the 2026 Act asks of frontline teams, leaders and boards, including the duty to ask and act, plans without sanctions and the role of judgement.
- Explain how Housing First differs from the staircase model, and why it treats a home as a foundation for recovery rather than a reward.
- Explain why labels such as lifestyle choice and not engaging can close down thinking, and use professional curiosity and respectful uncertainty instead.
- Plan your next ninety days using the five shifts toward the person, the organisational matrix and questions for your board.
