Overview and Outcomes.
Overview
Genius is often treated as a rare gift, but Robert Dilts showed it can be modelled from primary sources as a set of learnable strategies. This module examines three: Walt Disney's Dreamer, Realist and Critic method, Aristotle's observation, classification and induction, and Einstein's combinatory play as described in his letter to Jacques Hadamard, and shows how to build these disciplines into your own team's work.
What you'll develop
In this Bitesize, you will develop the ability to:
- Explain Dilts's argument that genius is a describable, repeatable strategy rather than an innate gift.
- Apply Disney's Dreamer, Realist and Critic method, including its four rules, to run a structured ideas session with your team.
- Compare Aristotle's inductive method with Einstein's combinatory play, and identify the shared discipline of separating modes of thinking in time.
