When you step up to a higher level, what you paid in the last 12 months for lower-level courses inside the bigger course comes off its price, in proportion to how much of each is inside it, whichever topic it's from. Courses at the same or a lower level don't give credit against each other. A Focus course or above always costs at least £15. Read the full terms

About this course

Overview and Outcomes.

Overview

Entrepreneurship is a mindset, not a job title, and it belongs inside councils, housing associations and charities as much as in start ups. This module runs from Schumpeter's creative destruction and new combinations to Sarasvathy's effectuation, Ries's Lean Startup, Osterwalder's Business Model Canvas and Pinchot's intrapreneur, with M-KOPA as a case, building habits for spotting an unmet need and testing a small idea before committing.

What you'll develop

In this Bitesize, you will develop the ability to:

  1. Explain Schumpeter's creative destruction and five new combinations, and describe the four parts of an entrepreneurial mindset.
  2. Distinguish causation from effectuation and apply Sarasvathy's five principles, including bird in hand, affordable loss and pilot in the plane, to an idea in your own work.
  3. Plan a small, evidence based test of an idea using the build, measure, learn loop and the Business Model Canvas, acting as an intrapreneur within your organisation.
