When you step up to a higher level, what you paid in the last 12 months for lower-level courses inside the bigger course comes off its price, in proportion to how much of each is inside it, whichever topic it's from. Courses at the same or a lower level don't give credit against each other. A Focus course or above always costs at least £15. Read the full terms

About this course

Overview and Outcomes.

Overview

This module explores why change is hard and what actually carries people through it. It distinguishes change, the event, from transition, the human process, using Lewin's unfreeze, change, refreeze model and food habits study, the Kubler-Ross change curve and Bridges' transition model, then turns to making change stick with Kotter's eight steps and the Heath brothers' Switch framework, and how to choose between them.

What you'll develop

In this Bitesize, you will develop the ability to:

  1. Explain the difference between change and transition, and describe how Lewin, the change curve and Bridges each account for what people go through.
  2. Apply Kotter's eight steps and the four Switch moves to plan a change and to shift behaviour that has not moved despite a sound plan.
  3. Choose which change model fits the question you face, whether that is the emotional process, the sequencing of the effort or behaviour that will not shift.
