When you step up to a higher level, what you paid in the last 12 months for lower-level courses inside the bigger course comes off its price, in proportion to how much of each is inside it, whichever topic it's from. Courses at the same or a lower level don't give credit against each other. A Focus course or above always costs at least £15. Read the full terms

Overview and Outcomes.
Who It's For
Leaders responsible for wellbeing across people, teams and organisations
Overview
Bending without breaking is a capability that can be built at every level. Across a full day, this programme moves from the foundations of wellbeing, resilience and adaptability, through personal resilience, mindfulness and leading others through adversity, to readiness, adaptability and a personal and team resilience plan. It then deepens the picture with sleep and stress physiology, self-compassion, Self-Determination Theory and PERMA, high-reliability organisations, ISO 22316 and antifragility. It addresses digital, financial and life-stage pressures, reads the environment through BANI, and tests everything in two capstones ranging from the Wigan Deal and Buurtzorg to Costco.
Aims
The aim is to develop leaders who treat resilience as something built rather than demanded: caring for their own physiology and inner voice, creating psychological safety and recovery for others, designing organisations that adapt and renew, and responding to modern pressures in ways that share responsibility fairly between individuals and the system.
In summary, you will be able to:
- Distinguish wellbeing, resilience, adaptability and antifragility, and explain how demands, resources, physiology and motivation shape each at individual and organisational level.
- Apply personal and team resilience practices, from mindfulness and self-compassion to psychological safety, to build a tested personal plan and team charter.
- Assess and strengthen organisational resilience using high-reliability principles, ISO 22316 and the BANI framework, with structural responses to modern pressures.
What you'll develop
By the end of this Immerse, you will be able to:
- Distinguish wellbeing as a state, resilience as a capacity and adaptability as a skill, and explain why each needs a different intervention.
- Explain Kabat-Zinn's definition of mindfulness and distinguish it from relaxation, emptying the mind and escapism.
- Assess your own resilience across the six areas and identify your largest gap, testing your score with someone who will be honest with you.
- Describe Neff's three components of self-compassion and distinguish self-compassion from self-pity, excuse making and lowered standards.
- Explain why technostress is a distinct demand and identify the assumed expectations that keep people always on.
- Explain how established models account for the results of the UK four-day week pilot, carrier flight deck operations and Costco's response to the 2008 crisis.
