When you step up to a higher level, what you paid in the last 12 months for lower-level courses inside the bigger course comes off its price, in proportion to how much of each is inside it, whichever topic it's from. Courses at the same or a lower level don't give credit against each other. A Focus course or above always costs at least £15. Read the full terms

Overview and Outcomes.
Who It's For
Leaders developing as coaches and mentors and building coaching cultures
Overview
Growing people well is a full day across the whole of coaching and mentoring, from the first conversation to an organisation-wide coaching culture. It starts with what coaching is, the working alliance and the line from Gallwey to GROW, grounding practice in the adult learning theory of Kolb and Knowles. It then explores the main schools: person-centred, solution-focused, cognitive behavioural, Tavistock systems-psychodynamic, team and systemic, and Passmore's integrative model. The later modules turn to mentoring, psychometrics, ethics and supervision, internal and peer coaching, and AI, before three real cases draw the threads together: the person holds the answer, and the relationship does the work.
Aims
This programme aims to develop leaders as confident, ethical coaches and mentors who can also build the conditions for coaching across their organisation, choosing approaches with judgement, protecting the people they work with, and recognising that lasting change depends on the relationship and the system as much as the individual.
In summary, you will be able to:
- Compare the main coaching and mentoring approaches, from GROW to systems-psychodynamic and integrative models, and explain the evidence and adult learning theory behind them.
- Apply a well-contracted coaching or mentoring conversation using suitable models, questions and tools, recognising when to pause and refer someone to other support.
- Plan how to build a safe, supervised coaching culture in your organisation, including internal, peer and AI-supported coaching and an honest approach to evaluation.
What you'll develop
By the end of this Immerse, you will be able to:
- Distinguish training, coaching, mentoring and counselling, and identify which conversation you are in.
- Explain how a coaching conversation takes a coachee once around Kolb's experiential learning cycle.
- Plan a coaching session by clarifying whether it is about development or performance and choosing a suitable setting.
- Distinguish Kram's career and psychosocial functions and describe the four phases of a mentoring relationship.
- Assess where your organisation sits on Clutterbuck and Megginson's four stages of a coaching culture.
- Apply frameworks such as the Inner Game, the working alliance and reflective practice to explain the Gawande and Osteen case.
